The “Meregildos” were Spanish 1st-rate ships of the line, armed with 112 cannons and with a designed crew of about 1100. They were armed with 30 36–Pounder guns in the lower deck, 32 24–Pounder guns in the middle deck, 32 12–Pounder guns in the upperdeck, and 18 8–Pounder guns in the quarterdeck and the forecastle.

Santa Ana was a 112–gun three–decker ship of the line of the Spanish Navy, designed by Romero Landa. This ship was launched on 28 September 1784 and, after a positive test, became the first of her class. Subsequent Spanish three–deckers would be built following the same plans. At Trafalgar, Santa Ana was the flagship of Alava, suffering 97 killed and 141 wounded, with Alava himself seriously wounded. Initially captured by the British, a squadron succeeded in recapturing her two days later and returning her back to Cadiz. In 1810 she was captured again in Avana by the French and sank in its Arsenal in 1816.

This ship pack can also be used to represent the Spanish Meregildos class “Mejicano 1786.”

The Concorde Class frigates were fifth-rate, 32-guns, fast and maneuverable ships. Three were built at Rochefort from 1777 to 1779 - the Courageuse, the Concorde and the Hermione. They were armed with twenty-six 12-pounder long guns on the main battery and lighter pieces of artillery – four 6-pounder guns on the forecastle and two on the poop deck – and were designed for a crew of 280.

The Sirena 1793 was a frigate of the Spanish Armada that had previously served in the French Navy under the name Elene. Captured in May 1793 by frigates Santa Casilda and Perla, it returned to active service with the fleet based in Havana, doing mostly escorting service. In 1807, it was wrecked on the coast of Campeche (Mexico). This ship pack can also be used to represent the Spanish Frigate “Ifigenia 1795”.

The Swan class was a class of 14-gun ship-sloops (even if in fact they mounted, after 1779, 16 guns). The class was designed for the Royal Navy by the Surveyor of the Navy, John Williams. Twenty-three more were ordered between 1773 and 1779; they represented the 'standard' ship-sloop design of the British Navy during the American Revolutionary War, during which eleven of them were lost. Surviving vessels went on to serve during the French Revolutionary War and Napoleonic War.

Thorn was the former HMS Thorn, a Swan class vessel built at Mistleythorn, and launched February, 17th 1779. HMS Thorn was coppered and pierced for eighteen guns, but mounted only fourteen 6-pounders. She was captured by two American privateers on August, 25th 1779; then, she became an American privateer with a number of successful engagements and prizes to her name, until the British ship Arethusa re-captured her on August, 20th 1782. This ship pack can also be used to represent the American ship-sloop “USS Atalanta 1781”.

Sail and fight with USS Constitution, “Old Ironsides”, the most famous of the six heavy frigates representing the birth of the US Navy!

The US Congress authorized the original six frigates of the US Navy with the Naval Act of 1794, signed by President Washington. These ships were built during the formative years of the US Navy – on the recommendation of designer Joshua Humphreys – to create a fleet of frigates powerful enough to engage any frigates of the French or British navies, yet fast enough to evade any ship of the line.

USS Constitution, the most famous among them, is a wooden-hulled, three-masted heavy frigate of the US Navy. Launched in 1797, Constitution was built to provide protection for American merchant from French ships and to defeat the Barbary pirates. Constitution is most famous for her actions during the War of 1812 against Great Britain, when she captured numerous merchant ships and defeated five British warships. Retired from active service in 1881, Constitution served as a receiving ship until designated a museum ship in 1907.

The ship base, ship card and ship log are printed on two sides -the game data of a second version of the “USS Constitution 1797 (1798)” is printed on the back, allowing the players to decide the most historically appropriate version for a scenario. This special pack also includes Crew Cards and Captain Cards for William Bainbridge and Charles Stewart, two of the most famous commanders of the ship, to represent their specific and unique skills.
